Abstract

The phenomenon of forest destruction has been in the spotlight for decades, both locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Therefore, mitigation efforts against forest destruction that impact climate change need to be carried out through rehabilitation in forest areas experiencing these impacts. The purpose of this study was to determine land rehabilitation activities and the level of success of the activities that have been carried out. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative-quantitative approach, while data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study obtained are rehabilitation activities carried out by Bapedas Akelmalamo together with KPH and the 'Lebo Maluku' Farmer Group in a 10-ha rehabilitation area with plant types such as balsa, binuang, and nutmeg. The spacing between one tree and another is 3 m x 3 m. The success rate of nutmeg plants reached 50%, the success category is less good, the success rate is less good. Binuang plants have a success rate of 70% with a fairly good category; the success predicate is at a moderate level. Balsa plants have a success rate of 91.80%, the success category is good, while the success predicate is very good. Plant death is caused by factors such as seed quality, pressure or stress during transportation, growing location, and climate.
