Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Auxin hormone application on root formation in breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) cuttings. Four main parameters were observed, namely the number of roots, root length, cutting survival rate, and the optimal concentration of Auxin hormone. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five Auxin concentration treatments (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 ppm). The results showed that the application of Auxin hormone had a significant effect on root growth of breadfruit cuttings. The treatment with a concentration of 150 ppm produced the best results across all parameters, including the highest number of roots, the longest root length, and the highest survival percentage. Therefore, the 150 ppm Auxin concentration is recommended as the optimal dose for vegetative propagation of breadfruit plants. These findings are expected to support efforts to enhance local food availability in Tagalaya Village and its surrounding areas.
